About Veterinarian Wellness Center of Boerum Hill
When your cat or dog is ill, it pains you to watch him or her suffering. Additionally, part of your responsibility as a pet owner is to take them to the vet regularly for wellness visits to prevent problems in the future. Fortunately for you, at our Brooklyn, New York veterinarian office, serving Brooklyn and the surrounding area, we conduct a wide variety of preventative and diagnostic screenings and treat your pet for various health conditions.
Who We Are
We're a full-service animal hospital. We treat emergencies as well as non-emergencies. We conduct diagnostic testing on-site, so your pet has the best prognosis for whatever is ailing them. We have several vets on staff who are knowledgeable and compassionate. We even offer separate entrances for cats and dogs to avoid issues with fighting because we want your experience with us to be a positive one.
Services We Provide
We conduct diagnostic testing at our facility. We're able to provide you with the results the same day you arrive. This allows us to start the treatment as soon as possible, which promotes a better outcome for your pet. Some of the more common tests we provide include a complete blood cell count (CBC), blood chemistry analysis, thyroid function screening and blood glucose analysis. We also test for common pet diseases like Parvo and Giardia as well as parasitic infestations. Our vet center also has the capability to view your pet's internal structures via digital x-ray and ultrasound technology, allowing us to detect broken bones, cardiovascular problems, kidney and liver issues as well as a wide variety of problems that may plague your pooch or feline. We vaccinate, spay and neuter, perform surgeries and so much more, right at our site.
We have five educated, well-respected and compassionate veterinarians on our staff.
Dr. Michael Alpino grew up in New York, and now has a strong dedication to the animals in the community. He has specialized training from various states and even from South America. He's our medical director and also the director of two other facilities.
Dr. Amy Ford originally hails from New Orleans but has found a place as a prominent vet at our facility. She's our go-to person for soft tissue surgery and dedicates herself to rescuing animals in our community.
Dr. Lisa Sether is a New York native and was trained in the West Indies. She has specialized training in spaying and neutering.
Dr. Sophia Miele resided in New Jersey for most of her life but now has become a well-respected New York veterinarian. She's an animal lover outside of her job.
